Christmas & New Year Waste & Recycling from Medway Council:
With consideration to giving you all as much notice as possible, I am writing to inform you of the Councils plans to manage refuse and recycling collection over the festive period. As per previous years, the last bulky and organic collections will be Wednesday 22 December 2021 and resume on Monday 10 January 2022. Residents will still be able to book their trip to a tip via the website: https://www.medway.gov.uk/tipbooking.
Due to the way the public holidays fall and the sustained significant increase of waste and recycling over Christmas and New Year, the Medway tradition of double-day collections is no longer achievable. This means we have no choice but to suspend waste collection on Monday and Tuesdays for a week, with these days next collection being the week after the new year. Collections that fall on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will re-start on Wednesday 29th December, after the bank holidays (as shown in the table below).
