Wainscott's Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator, David Miller, has been awarded a Safer Kent Award for his dedication to our local community.  At an awards ceremony held earlier in September 2008 at Leeds Castle, Kent Police Chief Constable Mike Fuller congratulated David and presented him with a framed certificate.

The citation giving more details of David's role was read out at the awards ceremony.  It said... "David has been a Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator in Wainscott for many years. He always goes about his work in a quiet, unassuming way that cannot be underestimated. David oversees a number of Neighbourhood Watch schemes and makes regular reports to Frindsbury Extra Parish Council on current crimes, scams and trends. He is deeply committed to Neighbourhood Watch, preventing crime and making sure Wainscott is a safe and happy place to live."

Information Required

Maree Collie from Melbourne, Australia has contacted us in her quest for infomation.

Maree writes: "My mother was born in Frindsbury Extra up on Haven Road in 1925 to Richard and Margaret Divey.

I came over there last year and found a lovely lovely place.

The family lived many generations in and around Frindsbury / Stood.

I am guessing that there will still be relatives living there, but I don’t really know how to go about contacting them.

So I am wondering if [the Parish] have a ‘notice board’ or community news letter on which I might be able to post some information and see if any relatives or persons knowing them are still in the area.

Wouldn’t that be exciting!

Thank you so kindly

Maree Collie"

If you have any information to help Maree, please email: clerk@frindsburyextra-pc.gov.uk
