Welcome to the website of Frindsbury Extra Parish Council. We look after the interests of the parishioners in the villages of Upnor and Wainscott, including other outlying settlements and the important Medway City Estate where many small businesses are located.

The parish of Frindsbury Extra is a part of Medway Council, a unitary authority in north-west Kent. Our parish area covers 9.29 square kilometres and has 4,544 persons on the electoral roll as at May 2007.

Information Required

Maree Collie from Melbourne, Australia has contacted us in her quest for infomation.

Maree writes: "My mother was born in Frindsbury Extra up on Haven Road in 1925 to Richard and Margaret Divey.

I came over there last year and found a lovely lovely place.

The family lived many generations in and around Frindsbury / Stood.

I am guessing that there will still be relatives living there, but I don’t really know how to go about contacting them.

So I am wondering if [the Parish] have a ‘notice board’ or community news letter on which I might be able to post some information and see if any relatives or persons knowing them are still in the area.

Wouldn’t that be exciting!

Thank you so kindly

Maree Collie"
