	The Lower Upnor Riverside Project is a partnership aiming to improve the riverside in Lower Upnor for residents and visitors alike. Its intent is to improve the physical landscape along the riverside in Lower Upnor. The Project is a joint venture between Frindsbury Extra Parish Council, Upnor Residents’ Association, Arethusa Venture Centre, Medway Yacht Club & Medway Council in partnership, with the support of Groundwork Medway Swale, Medway Swale Estuary Partnership & Greening the Grid, Kent & Medway. Scheme Outline Planning Permission Granted by Medway Council, Autumn 2009 Lower Upnor Village Green Landscaping Scheme drawings Update, May 2009 ~ the outline application has been resubmitted to Medway Council, following withdrawal of objections by the Environment Agency. A further Exhibition of the Lower Upnor Riverside Project Masterplan was held on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th July 2008 at the Church of St Philip & St James, Upnor Road.

	A public consultation and exhibition for this Project was arranged for Saturday 13 January 2007. It was held in the Arethusa Venture Centre, Lower Upnor from 10am - 3pm. When the doors opened at 10am there were already a small number of keen people interested enough to be first in to view the proposals. A steady trickle of visitors throughout the day came along to study the project proposals and view the plans. Many comments and fresh ideas were discussed with the Parish Council, Groundwork Medway and Swale, and Arethusa Venture Centre representatives in attendance. The Project is a partnership aiming to improve the physical landscape along the riverside in Lower Upnor for residents and visitors alike. The Lower Upnor Riverside Project is a joint venture between Frindsbury Extra Parish Council, Medway Council, the Upnor Society, the Arethusa Venture Centre, Groundwork Medway Swale, Medway Yacht Club and the Medway & Swale Estuary Partnership.
