The Chairman wished to discuss the date for the December meeting of the full Council and the necessity for holding a meeting in November.

It was proposed by Cllr Mrs Bird, seconded by Cllr Mrs Coomber and agreed that the minutes of the meeting held on 13 October 2005 be signed as a correct record.

Refused:

The backland element of the proposed development would be out of keeping with the existing pattern of residential development within the vicinity of the application site. In addition, the backland element of the proposed development would give rise to noise disturbance and a loss of privacy to the detriment of the amenities of the occupiers of 24 Hollywood Lane as a consequence of the siting of the rear properties and the access serving them. The proposed development would give rise to a loss of privacy for the occupiers of 6a Burton Close as a consequence of the siting of plots 2 and 3 relative to the aforementioned existing property. The proposal is therefore contrary to the provisions of Policy ENV15 the Kent Structure Plan 1996, Policies H9 and BNE2 of the Medway Local Plan 2003 and Policy QL1 of the Kent and Medway Structure Plan (Deposit Version) 2003.

MEETINGS

The Chairman had checked his diary and it was agreed the meeting of the full Council would take place on Wednesday 14 December. He then suggested the November meeting should be cancelled. After discussion this was proposed by Cllr Bird, seconded by Cllr Mrs Coomber and agreed. It was further agreed that a meeting of the Planning Committee would be held on Thursday 24 November and should any urgent Council business arise, it would be dealt with at the same meeting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Chairman closed the meeting at 7.30 pm
